, sorting. The corn husks were sorted by hand, and the rot mortals were removed. The old and tender were separated and weighed.
, soaked. Put the old corn peel into the tank and soak it in fresh water for about 3 hours. The tender corn peel can not be soaked.
, cooking. Put the clear water in a large pot, and after boiling, add soda ash to the boiling water in 12.5% of the weight of the old, tender corn. When the alkali is completely dissolved, the soaked old corn hulls and the unsoaked tender corn hulls are poured into the pan. The water in the pan is submerged in the fleas. Then, boil for 3 hours with the fire, stir every half an hour, and pay attention to the amount of hot water.
, wash the alkali. When the corn husks are boiled until they can be broiled by hand, stop the fire and use a clean water to gently wash off concentrated lye from the rind. The spent lye was recovered for use during re-cooking.
, pressure. The soda ash skin is placed in a cylinder, smashed with a wooden stick, and then added with appropriate amount of fresh water for rolling, so that the starch fibers contained in the skin are separated. Rolling pressure should be performed twice to increase the rate of flour extraction.
, press. Pour the twice-pushed moult slurry into a cloth bag, press forcefully or squeeze it with a heavy object to make it flow out of a white, starch-containing paste. When the squeezed juice is not pink, stop. press.
, precipitation. The pressed paste is precipitated in the clean water in the tank and the water is analyzed. The starch sinks into the bottom of the tank.
, filter dry. The starch settled in the bottom of the cylinder was put into a cloth bag, shaken back and forth, and the water was filtered out. After being drained, wet starch is obtained.
, dry. The wet starch mass was cut open, placed outdoors outside the house and allowed to dry.
, packaging. The dried starch is packaged according to the user's needs and stored in a warehouse for storage or sale.
Although this method is not complicated, but it requires a certain amount of technology, it is advisable to begin with a small batch of trial production. In general, 1.2 kg of wet starch can be prepared per kilogram of corn hull and about 0.5 kg after drying.
